    Tuscaloosa Date Night Favorites

It’s February and love is in the air! If you are wanting to take that special someone on a date they won’t soon forget, Tuscaloosa has you covered with some amazing date night favorites. Here are some great date night ideas in T-town.

The Riverwalk, 2710 Jack Warner Pkwy

Take a romantic stroll along this paved trail that follows the southern shore of the Black Warrior River. Enjoy a quiet conversation inside of a gazebo or on a bench with a beautiful view of the water. If you are looking for a relaxing date night at a scenic venue, try the RiverWalk.

Bama Belle Riverboat, 1 Greensboro Ave

Take a cruise on Tuscaloosa’s only paddlewheel riverboat with your sweetheart. You’ll experience a little bit of history along with a sense of adventure on your excursion. You can jump on one of the many tours already offered by the Bama Belle or you can get really fancy and rent it out just for you guys and some of your favorite couple friends.

Druid City Music Hall, 1307 University Blvd

If live music is more your scene, check out a concert at Druid City Music Hall. Take a trip to The Strip and dance the night away to your favorite style of music. Druid City Music Hall welcomes artists of all genres, so whatever you are looking for can be found at this venue. If you and your sweetheart disagree about the best type of music, you can be extra romantic by taking him or her to a concert that they will love without complaining. Truth be told, no matter who is playing, you’re sure to have fun at Druid City Music Hall. The atmosphere is laid back and fun and you will be with the person you love.

Cobb Theater, 4250 Old Greensboro Rd

A tried and true date night favorite is dinner and a movie. If you’re going the movies in Tuscaloosa you need to check out the Hollywood 16 and IMAX Cobb Theater. Featuring stadium high-back rockers, 100% digital projection, IMAX, D-BOX motion seats, wall to wall screens, and an extensive food menu, this theater is perfect for a fun night at the movies.

Escape Tuscaloosa, 1663 Mcfarland Blvd N

Located inside the Tuscaloosa Galleria, Escape Tuscaloosa is an interactive escape game experience. Escape Tuscaloosa is different than your average escape room. Their experience is composed of many different levels and in some cases expand into more than just one room. Grab another couple and choose between rooms called Abducted, The Cabin, The Playbook, The Prison, and The Haunting.

    Bama Theater, 600 Greensboro Ave

If you and your partner love live theatre, consider catching a production by a local theatre company at the historic Bama Theater. Not only will you be entertained, you will also be supporting local performers. Not to mention that the marquee out front makes for an incredibly Instagram-worthy backdrop. If you aren’t a fan of live theatre, but love the venue, check out their schedule to find out more information about art exhibits and the Bama Art House Film Series that will be hosted there as well. There is something for everyone at the Bama Theater.

Picnic at Capitol Park, 2828 6th St

Pack your picnic basket and a blanket and enjoy a picnic at Capitol Park. Between 1826 and 1846, Tuscaloosa was the site of the Alabama Capitol. However, in 1847 the capitol was moved to Montgomery. Now all that is left of the Tuscaloosa capitol building is the stone foundation and a couple of columns that are located in Capitol Park. These ruins make an elegant backdrop for date night photos.

Lake Nicol, 4409 Nicol Park Rd

If you want to have an outdoorsy date, give Lake Nicol a try. While this may actually be more of a “date day” instead of “date night”, it’s perfect for those who enjoy hiking, canoeing, swimming (in warmer weather), and bird watching. This well-maintained park is great for nature enthusiasts and those wanting to incorporate healthy living into their date activities.

    Happy Valentine’s Day

Hopefully this list will inspire you and help you decide where to take your sweetheart on your next date night. You might even try to do one of these per month. Whatever you decide to do, the important thing is to enjoy the company of the one you love. Happy Valentine’s Day!
